About

I am Laura Jayne, curator of haunted thoughts and ghostly tales.

Everything Haunted is for ghosts, horror, folklore, graveyards, haunted places, and the strange comfort people often find in spooky things.

It started while I was studying for my Master’s degree, where I wrote a dissertation called If You Have Ghosts, You Have Everything: Reimagining Haunting as Healing on Screen. The project explored the idea that ghost stories on screen are not always about fear, but can also help us process grief, preserve memory, and maintain continuing relationships with the people we have lost.

That idea still sits at the heart of Everything Haunted, and I will continue exploring it through my Healing Hauntings project, but the website has grown into something bigger.

Alongside writing about haunting in film and television, I will also share visits to graveyards and eerie places, horror screenings and events, folklore, ghost stories, and the occasional strange experience that feels too uncanny not to write down.

Here you will find:

  • ghost films and television writing ✓
  • graveyard visits and haunted places ✓
  • field notes and eerie observations ✓
  • folklore and seasonal traditions ✓
  • horror theatre and spooky events ✓
  • ongoing work connected to the Healing Hauntings project ✓

When I am not writing about ghosts you will find me under a blanket with my three cats in Whitby.

Thanks for visiting, and if you also find comfort in ghost stories, rainy graveyards, strange old buildings, or watching horror films when everyone else has gone to bed, you’ll probably feel at home here.

Welcome to the haunt.
